Why I Started Fish Hatteras

Fishing and the outdoors have always been a major part of my life. While learning the charter business as a mate on offshore sportfishing boats, I discovered how much I truly enjoy taking people fishing and helping them experience the excitement of the water. Starting my own charter business has been an incredible opportunity, and I would love the chance to take you fishing around Hatteras Island.

My goal on every trip is to give anglers the best experience possible on the water. Whether you're an experienced fisherman looking to target specific species or a family visiting the Outer Banks for the first time, I work hard to make sure everyone has a fun, safe, and memorable day fishing around Hatteras Island.

My Approach to Fishing

The number one rule on my boat is that we are all out there to have a good time. I’m competitive and enjoy fishing as hard as you’re willing, but that can never be more important than the overall customer experience.

Our waters are a food source and I love keeping fish for everyone to enjoy for dinner. At the same time, just because we’re allowed to keep a certain number of fish doesn’t always mean we have to. How much we keep is always up to you. We can keep everything we catch or release everything depending on what kind of experience you’re looking for.

Every day on the water is different, so my approach is to stay flexible and fish the conditions. I pay close attention to tides, weather, and seasonal patterns around Hatteras Island to decide where and how we fish. Some days that means sight casting shallow flats for red drum, while other days we may work the beaches or nearshore waters targeting whatever species are active.

My goal is always the same: adapt to what the fish are doing and give anglers the best opportunity for an exciting and enjoyable day on the water.

Trips for all Experience Levels

Trips with FISH HATTERAS are designed for anglers of all experience levels. Whether you're an experienced fisherman looking to target specific species or a family visiting the Outer Banks for the first time, I work to make sure everyone feels comfortable and has a great time on the water. I’m always happy to help beginners learn the basics while still giving experienced anglers the opportunity to fish the way they enjoy.
